Arsenal’s Full Squad; The strength in depth that we’ve been waiting for

A win on the weekend has gifted us with not only three points, but the realization that we finally have a full squad.  Cheers to Mr. Wenger for seemingly shoring up the strength of the starting eleven and the bench, despite the current injury list and our lack of outfield signings in the summer.

Manchester City may not have come out firing on Monday, but they made it very nervy toward the end of the match.  We have been forced to find a different system without the likes of Sanchez, Coquelin, and Cazorla, and it seems to be working quite well.  I do not want to get into depth on the subject, but this will allow us to switch it up again when the players, including Wilshere and Welbeck, return from injury.  The annual and obligatory “like new signings” players.

Some of the most interesting positives that we can take from the match include the timing of our goals (showing a composed overpowering throughout the first half)and the way that we saw out the match and retaining the lead.  It is excellent that our players were harping on the clean sheet in the post match interviews.  They are setting extremely high standards, and the entire side seems confident that they can be obtained.

It is very important for our season, January signings or not, that Walcott continues gaining form and pushing Giroud on netting opportunities.  Currently on the other wing, Campbell has really come on in terms of sharpness and speed.  Having written him off earlier this season, his improved defensive play, critical passing, and natural forward instinct has made him an important member of this squad.

It seems impossible to obtain the legendary fully fit squad, but Arsene deserves a lot of credit for the strength that he has combined from within our ranks. I think that the likes of Gibbs, Gabriel, Ox, Ospina, and even Chambers are more than acceptable substitutes for a title-winning side.  Now, with a favorable run of games, on to Boxing Day!
