Swansea Defeated; Arsenal's New Look
With two tight victories in a row, there is a lot to be happy about. Win at all costs, with fluidity as a unit. The Arsenal are undefeated since the opening match of the season and are looking forward to a favorable group of home fixtures in succession.
A casual start to the Swansea match saw us see off yet another cloud from seasons past hanging over the team’s head. Mustafi’s intensity has improved the entire Arsenal back line. The anticipation and committed challenges from our defenders are almost shocking the opposition attack. This is a major contributor to us having more calm and controlled feel, despite the frightening finish to this particular match.
Ozil, ultimately influencing team, continues to excel in his advanced free role in this season’s formation. Credit needs to be given to Bellerin and Iwobi for making themselves solid and indispensable to the starting eleven. They are amazing young talents and they continue to improve with confidence.
With all of the debate and concern over contracts one thing is for sure; Ozil and Alexis Sanchez love playing together. Their partnership is growing to a telepathic state, and they look for each other no matter where they are on the pitch. It’s undeniable that the two are world class talents and need to be kept at the club. I feel that they want to win competitions with the Arsenal as badly as we want them too.
Theo’s nearly hat trick and Xhaka’s red card made sure that Gunners worldwide couldn’t breathe easily for the last half hour. Regardless, the squad was strong in finishing off an opponent who always seems to trip us up. The upcoming schedule is tight, but manageable with our new squad depth. We need to take this great run of form into the formidable and dreaded November period.
